Thanks for all the calls today. Bright sunny day but bitterly cold and high winds on the summit. Started on 20m CW, my mediocre fist was made worse with the key’s contacts sticking and for the first time not being able to read what I was typing into my iPhone log. So next time it will have to be done with glasses, I must be getting older! After a while my fingers were getting numb so I had to finish early. Sorry if there was anybody else calling and for the extra repeats requested. Best DX was AC1Z.

I didn’t set up my 2m J-pole as it was getting quite windy, but I gave a quick call on 2m FM with the rubber duck antenna, but got no response. Soon off the summit I warmed up nicely in the sun and sat over looking Capel Curig while having my lunch. Nice to be out in Snowdonia again, only saw three other walkers .

FB Heinz, neat little radios aren’t they

One of my favourite hills. Has such a commanding view of the main three ranges in northern Snowdonia; Snowdon Massif, Glyderau and Carneddau.
