'Mobile Storm' Android App

I downloaded an App. for my phone a couple of days ago called ‘Mobile Storm’ (available from Play Store). It’s a lightning detector which shows strikes over user-definable time periods. 3 UK detectors are selectable, Headcorn in Kent, Greenlaw in Scotland & Leyland in Lancs. For me, being in the South, Headcorn seems fine and as I type, I can see the strikes from storms rumbling along the South Coast displayed on a zoomable map. The Greenlaw detector seems a bit hit & miss as to whether it’s detecting or not unfortunately.

Although you should never rely on such a thing for your own safety, it should at least give a rough indication of any storms around before setting off/ setting up on a summit.

73 & HNY to all!
