Microwave Log Confusion

Last week, during an activation, I made a few contacts using 1.2 GHz and uploaded them to the database. These are all S2S contacts and they do show up my normal log. When I view my “Microwave Log”, these contacts are not there: Sotadata3
I did find some previous 1.2 GHz contacts in the Microwave Log for 2022.

It appears (maybe) that the Microwave Log is not showing any S2S contacts but does show contacts with chasers that I have manually entered the grid locator. I thought the database automatically picked up the grid associated with SOTA summits for S2S contacts.

Any insight on what’s going on?

Try going to your “S2S” page, then “Go to Microwave Log”:

Works for me:

S2S operation is considered as a form of chasing by the software.

Activating logs consist of “chasers etc. I worked whilst I was on a summit”

Chasing logs consist of “activators I chased whilst I do not care where I was located.”

S2S logs consist of “activators I chased whilst I happened to be on a summit.”

The software knows the location of all the summits so for S2S contacts it has the location of both ends of the QSO known. For all other contacts, the software only knows where the activator is which is why you need to enter the unknown locator or lat&long. If there is no location info the QSO is not shown in the microwave logs as the purpose of the "Microwave Log and S2S Microwave Log is to show the distance worked so you can claim microwave awards.

Thanks for the helpful replies.
The key point I missed is that there is not one “microwave log”.
There is an Activator Microwave Log, an S2S Microwave log, and a Chaser Microwave log.

Also, the Microwave Logs behave differently from the “normal” logs.

The S2S link works for me and shows my 1.2 GHz summit to summits, but my activator log says ‘no records found’.
I’ve got the microwave activator badge, and the graph shows 137 activator QSOs on the 23cm band.

If you don’t add the “magic” expression in the comment for any non-S2S QSO then the software will not show that QSO in the microwave honour roll.
