MG K7GUD

Congrats to Pat, K7GUD, for reaching Mountain Goat status yesterday! W6LOR and I had the pleasure of meeting Pat in person and doing a quick joint activation not too long ago during a recent trip to Wyoming.

Well done!

Congratulations on achieving Goathood! 73 John G0MHF.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. And thanks for all the QSOs and S2S. And thanks to the SOTA organization. Glad to be part of such an enthusiastic herd or hams.

When I first started on SOTA, I thought, oh, I’ll get me one of those Goat awards. Then after a handful of summits, I realized that the Goat award required 1000 points, not 100 points. I wasn’t sure my old body had that many summits left in it. But the addiction of the pileup, and the joy of climbing these mostly unknown and unvisited peaks, most of them without a trail, made me keep doing it over and over.

Hope to hear you again.
