With the KX2 and its highly capable internal tuner, I wonder if the 9:1 unun would be necessary, or perhaps even adding loss.

My one (kx2 tuner) won’t tune a W3EDP on 40 without the 9:1. I found out the hard way!

W3EDP?

My KX2 w/ATU will tune 40-10 using a 57’ radiator and 17’ counterpoise directly connected. I haven’t found anything shorter that will cover those bands without a transformer though.
