Lucca (Tuscany) in late autumn

I always enjoy going to Italy… it’s not that far from my home town either. (depending on where you go)

Some time ago I had a QSO with an activator who had not entered his activation in the database… and the question arose as to what would happen if I activated this summit too. Would that result in a complete? - Yes, it does!
Because I really wanted to put this idea into practice.

Of course, the Tuscany challenge was another incentive.

We had chosen late November as the travel period… in the hope that we could extend the golden autumn a little.

On the day of departure it had snowed at home and I set off with 30 cm of fresh snow. In Tuscany the thermometer in the car showed 17°C for outside.
Unfortunately I caught a cold shortly before departure, so I didn’t make it to the summits for the first 2 days in Tuscany. I didn’t feel like driving.

The pre-Christmas season has begun in Lucca. The streets are decorated accordingly and the city, which already has a great atmosphere, is even more special. Especially after dark.

The hills around Lucca are still quite green…

but in the slightly higher elevations (above 800m) autumn is still golden!

So a strong recommendation: Tuscany in late autumn! :+1:

…and! - I’ve left a few summits for first-activators!

Hi Armin,

Nice account of your vacation in Tuscany, and thank you for activating 7 summits—let me emphasize, 7—in such a short time.

You’ve quickly “climbed” the rankings of the SOTA TUSCANY CHALLENGE.
Congratulations!
