Folks!
I’m leading a group of 6 HAMs who spend 2 weeks on intensive SOTA in June. This ins now my 5th SOTA trip. This year we will be 6 HAMs who have participated previous SOTA trips. So I expect that the group will be harmonic spending 2 weeks in a car.
The route primary goal are the islands around Lofoten and Senja in Norway. As not all members have joined the 2023 trip we will visit north cape again. Along the route we use SOTA goals to rest from car driving. On Lofoten we have rented a house as a base to start our activities. SOTA goals are quite difficult there. From sea level climbing up 1000 meters is not possible for all. But there are a few lower marks on the map available.
In Sweden and Norway we plan to visit SOTA goals along the main roads. The selection criteria is driven by time management. We will also visit several HAM oriented goals like radio transmitters (Funkerberg) museums (Radio Norddeich, Grimeton) and some more.
Again I plan to carry a QO-100 station to at least one SOTA mountain probably LA/FM-019 on Magerøya. I will announce the possible activations early. As many know WX can be quite a pain there. If it is not possible to follow the plans the announced activations will be cleared as early as possible. I hope to get in contact with you on the bands. During our visit on Lofoten we will erect towers and the QO-100 station at the house.
As in previous years I have a planning page online to provide info about the trip. Every evening I will post pictures of the day to a Blog. Find all the infos and all the links at: Lofoten Senja Nordkap(p) Reise 2026. End on June I will be on HAM Radio n Friedrichshafen. Hope to see you there either on the SOTA booth or on the ÖVSV booth. BTW Austria’s ÖVSV has 100 year anniversary in 2026!
