Yesterday I took my new tiny 5w (tr)uSDX ransceiver to a summit for the first time. It was bought as a new pre-built unit and I hoped that such a small radio would help to lighten my rucksack for future ad-hoc CW activations on days out.
I tested it thoroughly in the shack before setting out and RBN results were very encouraging across Europe.
I didn’t get the chance to use it properly on the summit for various reasons but on returning to the shack it is now stuck on a “Check PTT/key” screen and nothing seems to persuade it to do anything different.
Any thoughts from anyone on rectifying this issue?(other than binning it and reverting to my KX2…!)
Is the PTT button stuck “On” (not necessarily physically)? Maybe you can check for continuity across the contacts to see if the switch is activated without you pushing the button.
Problem solved. Holding in the Enter key while switching on the power supply cleared the issue - which is not uncommon apparently - and it now seems to be working well. It’s a great wee radio for QRP fun so delighted to have it back online.
