Lightweight 40-10 vertical

ICOM’s online blog FBNews Global just published my article about the lightweight SOTA vertical:

Scroll down to the bottom to see the article.

As you can see in Figure 7 of the article, I ran through several iterations before arriving at the ultimate version. I would like to give these away (gratis) to any SOTA friend who wants to test it out. All the prototypes worked the same - I only made the next one a bit lighter or easier to build.

Please contact me at sfab43@hotmail.com for details.

Do you have a public link? That one asks me to sign in.

I can’t see the article because I can’t log in. This must be a very interesting website. How can I create an account? I don’t see an option.

Sorry - see if this works without a PW

Apologies. Will someone tell me how to delete a post???

The link in Japanese actually works. It opens the entire July English version issue. Just scroll down and you’ll find the article.

I don’t know if you have changed the link in the earlier post but it works fine for me (using MS Edge from Germany). I’ll post the URL again here, in case it helps others:

Steve JS6TMW, thank you for the interesting article. I have a question about the measurement test you did. What was the polarity of the multi-band dipole antenna used for reception with the SDR for the test?

I still have several “prototypes” 40-10 ultralight vertical loading coils for giveaway. Contact me by email sfab43@hotmail.com

Steve JS6TMW, thank you for the interesting article. A note on the reason for my question about the measurement test you performed regarding the polarity of the multi-band dipole antenna. For ground waves it is important that the tested and the measuring antenna have the same polarity, otherwise the results can be unreliable and the test result can be misleading.
