Lets see your shelters Tent / Tarp / Kisu

Great idea…I have a number of them where that is going to be put to use. Thank-you

I have only used a tarp from FRILUFTS once before during an activation of the Schnepfhalde DM/BW-284. I had stretched the tarp over a bench, which was a good thing.

I had it in my luggage a few times, but then I didn’t need it. When I know it’s going to be really bad, I pack it.

Thats more the easy version
Umbrella used as walking stick and as shelter.
Will only be an option if there is no wind.

No wind is rare on most summits in the UK… or does the breeze follow me around? I think my one and only umbrella shelter (for the kit, not me) was on Beinn Dubh Airigh GM/SS-188… an on the spur of the moment decision to carry it.

Out and about on G/SP-013 Gun Moor Yesterday. Fine drizzle and wind, but cosy under the tarp. Chuffed to get my 500th S2S this year. The very small white dot on the horizon is Jodrell Bank. Also featured is The Cloud, Home of Tom.

This is not the first time, and I’ll wager not the last, that I’ve been more than a little concerned about you.
