Back from G and GM so nice with a small summit activation.
Will be in Oslo for some days now. May be active from a summit there.
Calling on 10.120MHz for some time to day. But when my brother Roar LA1CNA spotted me it become a small pile up.

Activation 8.November 2009 This time QRPp
This time with rock mite transceiver and dipole antenna.
RX is of direct conversion.The front end is a x-tal . but band qrm is enormous.
TX is 250mW and xtals for the rig is 10.120MHz Glad to qso to 6 DXCC.Some with 599 reports. Only problem was to know who was calling me. Best if call is like “LA1KHA/P de LA1FNA KN” two times if qrm.

I see you’re not kidding. LA/TM-049 now appears in the list of the 50 most activated SOTA summits:

No doubt it will soon enter the select group of summits that have been activated 100 times or more. I used to be able to say that I had activated every summit in the “50 most popular”, but not now - Grrr!
Keep up the good work on Holtankollen - it is being activated again as we speak!

We can’t go to Norway to do any SOTA activating at the moment because I only have a foundation licence which means I’m not allowed to operate outside the UK.

Hi Marc and Walt,
I’m not going to the imtermediate and full licence course just yet. I’m currently at 6th studing some subjects there and I just want to concentrate on that at the moment. I’ll probalbly do the intermediate course after I’ve finished my two years at 6th form and my full licence course probably a few years after that, so it will ages before me and my Dad M1EYP can activate Holtankollen LA/TM-049 and that is if we want to go Norway and if my Mum lets us go.

Operation in EA6 and LZ has been approved for Foundation licence holders on previous occasions. The Foundation licence is not CEPT approved which means you don’t get automatic reciprocal privileges, you have to contact the licensing authority in the destination country.
