There will be a Special Event Memorial Activation in honor of Liz Burns, K1LIZ (SK) on Monday 26 February, 2024 utilizing Special Event callsign K1L…

The activation will be on High Knob, VA (W4V/GC-001).

K1LIZ was a Three-Time MG despite being totally blind.
High Knob was Liz’s very first summit activation as well as her last activation.
February 26 is the second anniversary of her passing.
A number of SOTA activators will be there to cover as many bands as we can.

As with any activation in February, weather may impact access to the summit but as of this notice, weather appears to be favorable.

We hope you will honor Liz with a contact on that Monday.

Thanks to all the activators for this event. I managed to work the summit and thought of Liz while I was doing so. I knew Liz and she was a quite remarkable lady that I had to little time to know better.

RIP LIz. You are not forgotten.
