The path to the summit started conveniently from outside our minshuku. The first few hundred meters were a bit rough, untill it crossed with road 348. From there its tarmac up till the torii where the path to the summit starts. First part of the path is pretty good, until you reach the temple ruins. Here it gets steep. Since the whole track was covered with leaves, it was still slippery here and there.
I was expecting to find a rock to throw my rope, but that required walking back a bit, as there were none at the top.
Conditions were rough with fast QSB, so I only made 14 QSO’s. Thank you chasers!
By the way, the name of the summit is incorrect according to my host, as the Japanese name is Shiraosan. When I told him I was going to Hakuouzan, he didn’t know where it was, but when I showed him the location, he told me the Japanese name.
