After visiting one of the temples on the Shikoku Henro, there was another opportunity to activate another summit.
There are two ways to tackle this summit: from the north, or the south. The path from the south follows part of a steep trail to a temple, then has a part veering off which is less steep but is overgrown with high grass (no fun now the snakes are out and about), then turns steep again, but had ropes to help a hand.
Once past the temple, the path is better and soon the summit shows up.
Found a good tree for the antenna, and everything tuned up fine and dandy. Despite the K-index just 2+, it was difficult to get heard, but I think there was a big contest going on. I made 15 CW QSO’s with 2 S2S on 40 & 30, and didn’t bother anymore to try 20 as there were some contesters in the QRP-section.
I left a note of my visit in the logbook.
We walked the path back via the northern side. Despite the debris, it wasn’t that steep, so would have been the better choice.
Thanks for the QSO’s.
