Another activation along the Shikoku Henro pilgrimage. This summit is close to the Yashimaji temple. It can be reached by car (the easy way), or the pilgrim’s way on foot via a path with a 15-20%+ gradient. Since it had been raining yesterday, everything was damp and the humidity in the forest was probably 100%. First up, temple visit.
This is a beautiful temple, so we spent some time here.
After that, it was time to head to the summit.
The summit self was a small open patch with a mast next to it but no nice seating area. So I tried to find another spot within the activation zone and voila, there was a nice spot to setup the gear.
Conditions were rather poor on the band’s with a K-index of 4+, so I only made 13 QSO’s with 1 S2S. However I accidentally self spotted with the wrong reference on 30m So when back home I need to dive into QRZ and contact these stations. Sorry for that. I sent my ref a few times as well, so hopefully most of them copied the right one from there.
The plan was to also activate the nearby JA5/KA-024, but finding the path, and time-constraints because of the closing-time of the nearby temple, made me to ditch the plan, return and go home, but not without enjoying the distant view over Takamatsu.
