JA5/KA-023, Amagiriyama

Today’s activation was on Mt Amagiri. This is s national historic site as the Amagiri Castle was situated on the summit, but nowadays there are just a few traces of ruines.

Since we’re on the Shikoku Henri pilgrimage, the first task was to visit the Iyadaniji temple.

The path to the summit starts next to the temple. At first it looks like a serene path through the woods, but then it turns rocky and at some parts there is some rock scrambling to be done at 25%+ Glad it was dry because in wet weather this would have been troublesome.

After a 295m climb (from the higher parking at the temple) the summit is reached.

There are trees up there, so I could hang one wire vertical. The K-index was 4.5. 20m was a challenge. With just 3 QSO’s I turned to 30m, and that worked a lot better.

So with 30 QSO’s in 40 minutes, it was time to pull the plug, and head down the summit again. Thank you shack sloths
