Since we have a lot of good moutaineers under the SOTA-activators here in Switzerland, it becomes hard more and more for Mountaineers like my YL Carine, HB9FZC and me with not that bad but not very good climber-skills to find First-activation-summits But it must not always be a first-activation - you can experience a real SOTA-adventure also if you’re the second and third activator on the summit enjoy!
Nice video and nice peak. The peak looks very big with lots of off-trail hiking. Also, some 3rd or 4th class near the summit and no iron route. Looks exciting.

… you probably call that courage, because the climbers didn’t use helmets, even though experts are warning of increased rockfall risk due to thawing permafrost because of the extraordinary heat wave – so, in that sense, one should rather call it risk The Matterhorn is crumbling (-> Language DE, FR, EN can be selected above)

Hallo Chris! Vielen Dank für Deine lobenden Worte Der Haut de Cry war wirklich sehr eindrücklich! Ich war vor ein paar Monaten auf ein Video eines Berggängers aus der Wander-Community gestossen und hatte da im SOTlas nachgeschaut, ob es sich bei dem Gipfel um einen SOTA-Gipfel handelt. Carine und ich sind inzwischen schon seit über 20 Jahren zusammen in der Schweizer Alpenwelt unterwegs und haben schon ein klein wenig Erfahrung in der Beurteilung, ob man eine Tour zumindest in Angriff nehmen kann. Vor Jahren hatte es noch etwas Überwindung gekostet eine SOTA-Tour abzubrechen - heute (nachdem ich vor 1 Woche meine 7.Berggeiss im Stall begrüssen durfte) sind Punkte nicht mehr alles und wenn’s wirklich unverantwortlich für uns wird, dann drehen wir um Die Stelle, wo Carine so nah am Abgrund der Steilwand entlang geht, ist die Schlüsselstelle der Tour - ich bin da vorausgegangen und habe das Risiko für die Traversierung als kalkulierbar empfunden.. Wir sind sowas von begeistert von unserer gewaltigen Bergwelt; da fällt es nicht schwer die positive Ausstrahlung auch zu zeigen Vielen Dank Dir auch für die vielen QSOs in den vergangenen Jahren - wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste

Hi Peter and thanks very much for your feedback! That passage was the key part of the tour, and we really had to be careful a little bit there But after being on hiking- and trekking-tours together for over 20 years now, the experience helps Thanks once again and enjoy our great hobby further!
Hi Heinz and thanks for your feedback! Thanks also for the link to the information about the permafrost around these summits - unfortunately I couldn’t see the meaning of the different colors!? Anyway at least if you cannot climb to the Pointe de Vouasson because of that risk you cannot climb to any summit anymore - life is a risk - it doesn’t matter what you’re doing and where. The key is to calculate the risk and for sure to have luck - everyday and anywhere Thanks very much for the lots of QSOs in the past - looking forward to the next ones
