What kind of battery life are 705 users finding for the BP-272?
I have a 705+BP-272 which is primarily used for driving a transverter. When used like this the 705 is set to 1W SSB on 432MHz and an external LiFePo is used to power the transverter. This use case may give more life than running 5W FM etc.
I’d be interested to know just how long the BP-272 lasts?
Me too !
I usually use 705+LiFePO4 for 10W; but then have a BP-307 as backup for 5W.
I do use ID52+BP-272 but never drained the battery in use.
So sorry, I can’t advise on how long 705+BP-272 combo would last. No doubt someone can. Maybe Paul @MW0PDW

I’ve been using the 705 a lot over the past few months along with the BP-272 battery for the 2 metre challenge. Just in case it goes flat, I carry a DC lead and a small LiFePO4 4 cell pack.
The 705 is set to 1W TX and drives a small linear amp.
While hardly a scientific account, the experience to date has been:
3 summit activation (VK3JBL and VK3YY), the battery went dead flat half way through the 3rd activation. Each activation was about an hour.
Single summit activations ~1-2 hour, the battery holds up ok, and at the end of the activation, the battery has one or two bars left. The squinty 3 bar display is not that helpful.
Using the battery is convenient, less wires and gubbins. I’m wondering about getting a larger capacity one though.
