Activation of the Monte Fogliano SOTA I/LZ-097 summit, within the POTA reference park “IT-1706 Monte Fogliano e Monte Venere”
The summit can be reached directly via the “forest road” that starts from the SP39 and crosses a beautiful beech forest to the summit (“forest road” is very bumpy but passable by car). From the summit it is possible to admire the panorama of Lake Vico below
I used the XIEGU X5105 + MicroPA 100 (100 W) with a 5.2 m vertical whip antenna and six resonant radials .
27 CW QSOs (19 on 20 m band and 8 in 40 m) in approximately 60 minutes.
There is good cellular internet coverage on the summit. Many repeaters present.
