Holiday with Family in EA8/FU - Try a Sota Activity and need help

Hi Sota Community,

from 13. May - 20. May i will fly with me Family to Fuerteventura EA8/FU.

It ist a little bit tricky for me to take my sota shortwave Equimpment to the holiday. Cause the luggage of my child needs space :slight_smile:

Our Hotel is on the bottom from EA8/FU-001 Pico de la Zarza, so it is possible to walk from the Hotel to the Summit.

My Question is, does anyone knows an Sota Activator or another ham radio om or yl from Fuerteventura, which can i ask if he want to activate the summit togehter with his Equipment and me?

Is the child’ mother travelling with you? Then she’s sure to have room in her luggage. She should also limit herself a little, not just you.

There are some active activators in EA8/TF but I can’t find any in FU. No EA8s have activated the summit.

The summit can get busy, so a compact antenna like a 10m flowerpot or 20m vertical with short radials is ideal. There are metal posts to support a mast. There is a fence slightly down from the summit, I think still in the AZ which is a less busy area and a bit more space for a dipole.
