Great 5.9mi hike with 1125’ elevation gain up Iron Mountain (2697’) and SOTA designator W6/SC-214 (2 points). Made 12 VHF (FM) QSO’s, 3-40m CW QSO’s, 2-20m QSO’s. My first time doing (all) my HF QSO’s with CW. Furthest VHF QSO was +200 mi to Santa Barbara. Radios were Anytone 878 (6W) + 30" tactical whip, and KB1HQS’s hiking pole Yagi. And a Yeasu FT-891 + inverted “V” dipole on a 20’ telescoping mast. Multiple picnic tables at the top. A bit crowded, lots of dog hikers and families.
