Highest SOTA in Southeast Asia | Mt.Kinabalu

03.Jun.2023
I have climbed and activated on Low’s Peak(4095.2m), Mt.Kinabalu = SOTA:9M6/KB-001 with Ito(JA7ENA), Ted(JL1SDA) and Tak(7M4QZE).
Low’s Peak is the highest in Malaysia, once thought to be the highest in Southeast Asia.
I believe this is the 1st SOTA activation in Malaysia.

Thanks ALL. 73,

This is fantastic. Well done, what an experience that must have been for you all.

As ever, when my interest is piqued by an activation report, I went to have a look at the SOTA Database for more further details of the operating and QSOs. Thanks to the fabulous redesign and rewrite of the SOTA Database by Andrew @VK3ARR this is easier than ever before…

Looks like a great tour to do. Congratulations to the first activator team!
Did you setup tents or did you stay at the hut/shelter?

Thanks fer S2S.
It was too busy to set up Ant. at sunrise time. Sorry for waiting for hours.

Hi Joe-san,
It seems that there is a rule to stay at a mountain hut the night before going to the summit.
So we left the hut at 3:00 in the morning = We delayed our departure to avoid congestion.

Thanks Hiro-san,

I understand that this summit is very popular. Maybe not as popular like Fuji
Brings back good memories.
