"HB9NBGs Clever-Whip Kit" - Lightweight + high performing

Hi folks

A few months ago Carine (HB9FZC) and I discovered SOTA-DXing. Someday in the night I woked up and had the idea to create a very lightweight, very robust antenna-setup, that is very efficient and easy-to-handle. It works on 20m to 6m, and we plan to launch also an extension-kit for 40/30m. I could write a lot of details here - but simply have a look at our new video :+1:

Hpe cu soon on-air

“Drei Heringe!”

I’m doing my best to follow the video with my basic German. I thought, that’s a novel approach of René’s to use three dead fish (herrings). Is there something fishy about this design? But it seems the word can mean tent pegs too.

Hi Andy, oh in German “Tent pegs” and “Herrings” means the same  But you’re right :+1: We decided to produce that video in German, because the recnt three ones were produced in English - one of it is an entertaining SOTA activation report  Have a look at our playlist “English”: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLP4wafvCplVkxPHUsdzUUDWpEkM6VxfeH BTW : I think the subtitles in YouTube should work :+1:

Thanks once again and hpe cu on-air! vy 73 de René, HB9NBG

I’ld rather listen without them to improve my German. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to make a joke around the double meaning of the word.

Great idea - live is serious enough
BTW: This Friday we will introduce another brandnew, and very interesting product on our YouTube-Channel!

My wife’s German, and I hear that word often enough that I now apply situational context whenever I hear “herring”, whoever says it… :fishing_pole_and_fish: :tent:

Hi Ron, yes, we had already some QSOs with ZL1TM with that antenna on 20m, 15m and 10m - with really big signals  But I don’t think, that the big herrings were the reason

Hpe meet you some day on one of our SOTA-activations

Wow, that’s a innovative idea :+1:

Good luck with SOTA and vy 73 de René, HB9NBG

Oh yes the subtitles worked, but they were also in german , so did help, but not that much. But great brush up on German for me too !

Rene, I am learning bits and bobs of German beyond “Das Boot” and “Franz” so keep up the good work. If I was deaf I could see how excited you are about the AX3 and if I was blind I could hear how happy you are to be in the Alps enjoying a new antenna.

Keep doing what you do and we follow you master

I still don’t understand why Swiss Cheese has holes

So they can recombine with the Swiss cheese electrons?

[My “Heringe” fishy antenna joke didn’t seem to work so I’m trying again]

Hi John, you got it: Carine and I are absolutely thrilled about to enjoy SOTA in our beautiful Swiss mountains :sunglasses: At the moment the WX is really bad here, but the next summer is comming - for sure

Have fun with your activities and vy 73 de René, HB9NBG + 73/88 de Carine, HB9FZC

BTW: If you read in the Swiss Newspapers, you can find information, that the holes in the Swiss Cheese are in danger
