Dear all
The USKA Club of Schaffhausen celebrates their 50th anniversary in 2022. During the whole year the special callsign HB5ØSH commemorates this anniversary. One of the last actions will be a SOTA activation on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. It will take place around noon, probably from about 1000 to 1200 hours UTC. Will you join in on the bands? See details on SOTAwatch spots.
The HB/SH SOTA region includes one single summit: Wannenberg, 661 m.a.s.l., HB/SH-002. The Wannenberg is located above the village of Osterfingen, on the edge of a wine-growing area. With only one summit, HB/SH is rarely on the air, although the summit is easy to reach by car or public transport. The beautiful region with the traces of old volcanoes and some good wine is worth a visit also aside SOTA.
Schaffhausen joined the Swiss Confederation together with Basel in 1501. The small canton lies mainly north of the river Rhine. The northernmost point of Switzerland on the border to Germany is located in the canton of Schaffhausen. The capital city, Schaffhausen, is known for its beautiful old town.
