HB/VS-118, Pointe des Mossettes

Hi All,
Quick activation report for HB/VS-118, Pointe des Mossettes.
This is a very straightforward summit to access and activate if you’re on a winter sports trip to the Portes du Soleil ski area.
Having said that it is an alpine precipice surrounded by sheer cliffs so go careful in poor visibility!

The summit is right on the F/HB9 border and has two chairlifts, one from the F side one from HB9.
If you’re coming from France you want the TSD Mosette:

and if coming from HB9 you need the Mossettes-Suisse:

At the top of the chairlifts is the “Cookie Cafe” which has wifi if you need to spot yourself before you set up.
The deck of the cafe is 2m below the AZ so you’re going to need to climb a bit

As you walk directly away from the cafe up the hill you’ll clear a ridge and see a small cross monument and a commercial mast right at the summit.
The black cross marks where the monument is and it’s a convenient spot to setup.

As I was travelling light I didn’t have an antenna support so used the cross itself to get the antenna off the ground.

View walking back down with French chairlift on left and Cafe on right:

This was only a quick activation as I was out for the day with the family. All QSOs 40 CW.
Kit (minimal):
LNR MTR3B
Palm Mini
1/2 wave dipole for 40m.
9v battery.
Bud earphones.
Pen & paper!
