Quick trip out today to Cyrn-y-Brain GW/NW-043 using my newly built QCX (for 20m) transceiver. Very pleased that it worked first time and nicely designed too.
I still have the 50 watt amp that goes with it to build, but will enjoy doing that over the Xmas holidays.
I made a few EU contacts with it. Apologies to the patient CT1 who was calling me, but I just couldn’t pick out your suffix. I was experiencing QRN from the local transmitter mast I think.
After 20m I made a few contacts on 2m FM before heading back to the car. It was getting quite cold so I decided not to proceed to NW-042.
