First time in a while where the walking was not just a trivial stroll whilst also carrying a pack full of gear.
Luckily the weather was just about perfect. Not too hot, just a little breeze to keep cool, no blazing sun.
2m SSB and 23cm were the main targets with a ladder line vertical for 2m and 70cm , a 3 ele beam for 2m (more on this later) for horizontal all mounted on a fishing pole with a 13ele yagi for 23cm mounted on a tripod. powered by an ft-817 and an SG labs 23cm transverter.
All was working well until I tried to go for horizontal ssb on 2m and got infinite swr. I suspect the feeder is now faulty, so apologies to those who were looking for me on horizontal. I did see the message on the spots page @GW0PLP and switched back to vertical in the hope of a qso.
There was also an attempt at 70cm SSB but no takers.
All in all, a good day out. Nothing earth shattering dx wise but good to have a proper day out.
Good to get Mat, M0MTP on 2 summits with 1 being a STS and later I worked Tom M1EYP from the ponderossa car park (he was on NW-042) for a grand distance of 2km.
Many thanks to all on 2m and 23cm
Ian
