Making use of the bonus points I decided to activate GW/NW-042 and GW/NW-043 yesterday (27th Dec)
We had some heavy fog at the QTH when I got up. But decided to give it a go, 1 hour drive later and I am at the parking spot on the road by the Ponderosa Cafe https://www.ponderosacafe.uk/ - currently closed
The fog was with me all the way but as I parked up the fog was below me
I chose GW/NW-042 (Moel y Gamelin) as the first hill to to. Took me around 45mins to walk from the car to the summit, stopping off to catch the views.

For a change there was very little wind. Starting off on 2m. I spotted and managed 10 on 2m and 5 on 10m including America.
Time to pack up and make a move to the last hill of the day GW/NW-043 (Cyrn-y-Brain)
On the way back down I managed a chase with EI4JY/P who was on EI/IE-042 (Cushbawn). 5w on a handheld.
Back at the car for a quick brew check, fresh nibbles and headed off to Cyrn-y-Brain
Nice walk up and took around 40mins.
Finally got going on 2m after a chat with a couple of people.
13 logged on 2m and with the sun starting to move behind the previous hill it was time to pack up. Heading back down the hill gave even more great views of the mist/fog in the vallies
As I got back down to almost road level the mist had returned and it was certainly the right time to depart and head home after a good days radio.
