G3CWI Fleamarket closed

For a very long time, SOTA founder Richard G3CWI, ran a free to use ham radio sales/wanted website. I have bought and sold many things on his Fleamarket site and it was always simple to use and seemed to be reasonably free of rogues, vagabonds, scum and bandits etc. I was just getting ready to post more items for sale and found out that it is now closing down. There are still adverts of items for sale but no new adverts can be placed.

Richard has not logged in here for 7months but he may still pass by seeing what is happening. So if he does, thanks from me for providing the facility for all those years.

I’ve bought many items off the flea market over the past few years, including a very nice Rigol bench power supply from Richard himself. The flea market has been greatly useful for selling things too.

Thanks very much Richard.

Sadly, the guy who currently has for sale a BT Response 15+ answering machine for £10 is now unlikely to ever get rid of it, perhaps he should try offering it to a museum

Many thanks for the heads up Andy. I’m really sad that Richard’s excellent site is closing down. Hopefully someone can host a replacement site, though as they as, “it will be a hard act to follow".

I’ve both purchased and sold rigs on the site, always without any issues. I even acquired rare items such as my Standard C710 triband handheld (2/70/23) and the internal transverter for my KX3. So my personal thanks to Richard.

Likewise, same as others. I have used the Flea market for many years, buying and selling. It will be missed for sure by many. I’d check it around twice a week and was always interested in trying to see who was selling what. The final item I sold on there in late July was my Yaesu FT-991A.

Someone has made a replacement site which is checked to make sure the listings are from ham to ham.
it was created to directly fill the gap that G3CWIs flea market left. There are quite a number of differences, but the big one being, no call sign, no listing and the site owner can check before adverts go live.

The site is run by M0NXD

regards.

I’ve just tried the site. It says 10 items found but nothing is displayed. Click search again and they flash on the screen but then disappear. I have sent an email to Nathan.

EDIT: Disabling the ad blocker makes it all visible.
EDIT EDIT: Should now work even with an ad blocker.
