I’ve left Swinside to be my 2nd last Marilyn and SOTA in all of England and Wales (G and GW). It appears this has turned into something of a mistake!!! After almost 10 days of calling various numbers to get access to the summit I have now been given the following information from the current owners. I’m asking to see if at least one person can be around to answer a 2m handheld call from Swinside on Wednesday approx 12:30UTC. It’s a bit of an awkward site for 2m FM, so it would need to be someone fairly close by.

I can set up a WhatsApp group for progress updates to save people hanging about.

Hi Gerald,

Check 145.325 when you are on the summit as sometimes there is a net on and Peter GM3VMB may be on. There is a good chance you will hear him. They are not always on but it is worth listening. I monitor but wont be able to hear Swinside from center of Carlisle.
