Fog arch, summit, an enthusiastic listener

On the way from the totally foggy qth Hannover to the Schalke DM/NS-008 in the Harz, luck was on my side.

Halfway from the parking lot the fog cleared and gave me subjects for my analogue camera. It was fitting that I can now develop color films myself. (Kodak Gold 200 Adox C41 process).

When I reached the top, I noticed a hiker who was listening to my loud😐 qsos for a noticeably long time.

At the end she came to me and said: “How nice to listen to shortwave again, thank you for that. My grandpa brought a radio with him from World War II and I sat in front of it for hours as a child. Are you interested in the device?” And it is actually a model built in South Africa in 1940.

Nice story Chris.

You nailed the exposure on those analog photos. It’s not something easy to do when shooting directly into the sun.

What camera do you use?

It’s a Voigtländer Bessa L made 1999 and Color-Skopar 21mm F4 made in Japan.

Looks great. I am not keen to move back to analog (and will probably never be), but I have al lot of respect for those who do!

I replaced the third photo, it was originally from the smartphone :face_with_hand_over_mouth:. By the way, it shows the 10 point summits Brocken DM/SA-001 and Wurmberg DM/NS-001.

It’s the grain in the photos which makes them good.
