FL/NO-067 Bel-Air, Trébry

I’m hoping to activate the above summit tomorrow about 10:00UTC.

Only problem is I would like to get at least one 2m SSB contact. It appears there hasn’t been a single 2m contact (FM or SSB) for SOTA.

If anyone in the area could look out for my spots I’d appreciate it. So far I’ve managed at least 1 2m SSB from every summit I’ve activated this year… hoping not to break my streak.

Thanks.

If you make a successful activation can we dub you the Fresh Prince? :star_struck:

That’s disgraceful carry-on and needs rectifying immediately! Best of luck! Will stick this in my alerts.

Good luck @MW0WML Gerald! That 2m ssb challenge isn’t going to win itself.

Imagine activiting in snowy conditions and being the first one to leave footsteps in the snow..

Would that be the Fresh Prints of Bel-Air?

Hi Gerald,

well done! :+1:

Could you please share some information about the pole and the antenna shown in the picture.

Cheers, Peter

Hi,

Definitely not lightweight! It’s OK for “near roadside” type activities. Although I have stretched that a bit and carried it up Moel Famau GW/NW-044.

The mast is an LMA-L 33ft Portable Telescopic Mast
The antenna is a Diamond A144S5R 2M 5 Element Yagi
I also carry the standoff to permit vertical operation.
I have 10m of RG213 heavy duty coax, with the correct plugs, PL259 and N Type, to connect direct to the antenna and my FT-857 and with an N to BNC adaptor to my IC-705.

For RSGB Contests I use the 705 at 10w and 5w for the Backpackers and limit the antenna height.

Today I used the 857 at 40w and all the mast I could use! It worked well. With contacts over 400km.
