Fishing / telescopic pole ideas?!?

Joint activations are common place Tasos. I would certainly take up James’ offer of an outing. It is always useful seeing how others operate from the summits and you can develop your own ideas as you go along. Hopefully you will be able to link up with someone that you get along with and it can become a regular event. Joint activations have the advantage of splitting travel costs and having someone with you helps when you venture out on longer journeys. It also provides security on the hills.

On the original subject, in common with many I use the 7m Lineaeffe Pro Delta, though having packed the kit without a pole on one occasion last summer, I bought a 7m Stipp from the fishing shop near to where we stayed which is similar. I use a 5m travel whip purchased off eBay for operations in Europe as it fits inside the hold luggage and supports a ground level fed wire 14MHz vertical with counterpoise. Not the best antenna, but sufficient when keeping it simple is best.

Hopefully work you on one of the bands at some point in the future.

Tasos

Donkeys are fine if you are a lightweight activator. One well known heavyweight ran into problems with his donkey.

You have a scoop there, Richard, I recon it’s a photo of the new British moon landing launch pad…
