Filtering of alerts in Sotawatch

it would be helpful to filter alerts in Sotawatch in order to show only
alerts for VHF in mode SSB and/or CW (2m/70cm challenge in 2026). If the matching
alert is for HF and SSB/CW also these alerts may be shown as well, i.e.:

144.0-SSB, 7.000-CW

but not

145.0-FM, 7.000-CW or 145.0-FM, 7.000-SSB

Any idea how to set the filters in Sotawatch?

Experiment with the filter options (funnel icon) but ssb/cw and 144/432 are not explictly catered for as far as I can see. The callsign filter seems to filter for any occurrence of the letters you select on, even if it’s in the modes or summit reference. And in one case the letters were in a word in the comments…and looking for Bill VK1RT I used RT and got every alert posted by VK-Portalog.

Hallo Georg,

Do you know of the SotaWarch Filter website from ON6ZQ:

Here are its possible settings:

https://on6zq.be/p/swf/#/settings

Set the values as needed, and then click on “Spot Filter” in the upper left corner of the browser screen. Settings stay until you change them again.

Hi Ed,
I would like to filter “alerts” (upcoming activations, i.e. only alerts for VHF with mode SSB and/or CW) and not “spots” (current activations).

Sorry, my mistake, this is only a solution for spots.

Ed.

Contrary to spots, the frequency field for alerts is not structured, what probably has historic reasons. I can enter even typos and nonsense and mix up frequencies and bands.

The worst case are people not entering alerts for their activations, hi.

Try Manuel’s page here: Upcoming SOTA activations in G/GW/GD

You can filter by association (prefix), and add a text filter for “2m” which will get you part way there.
