Filter metadata for summits

I wish there was a way for ops to add metadata to the summits they activate that can be used to filter for some specific niche things I’m looking for.

For those of us toting microwave gear to the top of some of these mountains, it’d be great to know, and be able to filter by, summits that can be driven up to. Some of this gear is heavy or otherwise unwieldy and if I only have to hump it from my trunk to a picnic table/operating spot a hundred meters away, I want to know. Also, for UHF and microwave bands, it would be nice to know if the summit has a clear view or is surrounded by trees giving you no view. (UHF and higher frequencies frown on trees.)

I can also see having a tag for summits that are wheelchair accessible.

Being able to filter out the summits that don’t meet these criteria would be very helpful for planning purposes.

If it were me, I would ask the manager of the region of interest. Of course, some of the summit page resource sections provide that info. I know a few almost drive-ups that allow you to ride to the top, unload your gear, and retreat to the nearby parking area, for example.

There is already! You can add tags to articles (and links):

At the bottom there’s an “Edit Summit Tags” link:

Click on that and you’ll get the options of:

This then appears on the main summit page as icons next to the summit name.

This is on the list to be implemented. It’s delayed behind two more critical pieces of work which aren’t far off being done.
