Yes, exactly, personal preference. The site originally linked only to sotadata. I prefer sotl.as because I like the high density of information there. I like to see the photos, map, activation zone polygon, list of recent activations, popular bands, etc. for a summit in one place. I wrote to the site’s author, Ian MØTRT, to request it, and he thought it best if the user could choose which site they want links to go to. So he made it an option for the user to select from those two sites.

Thanks Ben. I thought it was just using sotl.as or sotadata for the summit reference to name,location etc. info and as sotl.as uses sotadata for its info I couldn’t see the point of using one or the other as they would be the same. I never thought it was for the different userdata that is linked to the summit references.
