Thanks for the input folks. How keen are you on having the pre-QSY spots go grey, compared to being hidden completely? I was going to add a simple toggle so they are hidden by default, but if you want to see the older ones, you can toggle them on. But if you’re both keen on them being grey, I could make it a three-way switch.
This is a great addition, I like the presentation. And the ability to - whisper it - hide CW, which is no use to me, having tried and failed over decades it’s not gonna happen for me.
Puts the essentials of what I want to know in the right place and eliminates all the stuff I’ve missed or can’t do - thanks for the thought you’ve given to streamlining the *OTA experience!
Perhaps in such cases, and before any time-out, the older instance on its’ frequency could be presented in a different color and/or italic combination, a combination which would have a special meaning for the users.
@MM0FMF Animations can now be turned off, and 23/13cm have been added.
@VK3AFW @G4TGJ @DM1CM I have added QSY detection, the default behaviour is to hide old spots, but there is an option to show them, or show them but greyed out.
Hope the new features help, let me know if you have any issues!
Personal view. Flexibility is always best.
Setting for.
All on
Most recent freq/mode only
Most recent color, older in grey
Some people operate regular bands/modes… it allows you to see if maybe they have worked one band but another might be possible later… or are they on the last one they usually use.
I had a look through the source… an optimisation you could make is only to ask for spots from the services the user is viewing. i.e. if they turn off SOTA spots then don’t request SOTA spots. It’s saves on user data usage and minimises loads on the servers. I didn’t look in depth so maybe you are already doing this.
Good idea, now implemented thanks!
Thanks, Ian,
Just had a quick look, wow!
Thanks Ian! Good job!
Never cared about chasing… but with this tool it will be a pleasure.

It would be usefull to post the call of the activator on the same frequency only once. Currently it seems to be posted once per spot… so if there are several identical spots on the same frequency it would be enough to post it in the frequency list only once… or post only the last spot for a call, not several…
Thanks

Sorry, and one more… on smaller devices a part of the frequency scale might be missing if many stations are listed… a possibility to scroll would be helpful…
Thanks Ian for your good work!

@DH5ST There is some rejection of duplicate spots already in the software, which should hide those that are perfect matches. If you see duplicates in the frequency band display, it could be that they are the same operator working two programs at the same time. On the map we want to display both markers, but on the frequency display we should probably hide one of them. I will add that to the list.
On mobile, you should be able to scroll the band display both horizontally (if there are a lot of bands) and vertically (if there are a lot of spots on the band). Desktop is a bit more difficult as a mouse only has one way to scroll naturally. But it does look like you only get horizontal not vertical scrollbars at the moment, so I will sort that out.
Thanks for the bug report!
Thanks Ian!

@DH5ST Both issues should be fixed now. Total duplicates have been removed from the band display. I still see a couple of instances where a /P is used on one program and not another, but hopefully most of the duplicates will be gone now.
I’ve tried to figure out a way of keeping everyone happy with regard to scrolling on the bands panel. Mobile and touchpad scrolling should still work in both axes as expected. When you have just a mouse with a scroll wheel, it will now scroll a band vertically when the mouse is over a band, and it will scroll the band display horizontally when the mouse is over the coloured headers.
Hi Ian,
checked both improvemenrs. All ok.
Thanks for the amazing and very fast job!

Ian has continued to make the upgrades. Now it opens with my nominated QTH in the centre of the map. Old spots are gone as are calls with a qrt message. Tapping on stations gives a short path bearing and distance.
Thanks Ian, great job.
