Unlike some countries, exposure to firearms is not that common in the UK. Sure some of us here are ex-forces, some are involved in stalking/hunting and so get exposed regularly to firearms. But most of us only see real firearms in the UK when we visit an airport here. This makes stumbling across spent casings when out playing in the countryside a bit of an event.

Having said that, the local Christmas Tree farm has lots of shooting events (mostly clays) and it’s 2.5km crow fly distance from here. The Clay Pigeon shooting site is 2.3km crow fly distance. So it does sound ike WWIII has started most weekends :slight_smile:

One of my Winter SOTA trips up Black hill GM/SS-167 next to Castlelaw range was very loud with lots of gunfire.

It reminded me of Where Eagles Dare…..
