Facebook SOTA group

You can still have a private group and yes you can stop all and sundry from joining

Thats how most are going to end up. Im a mod on a radio group so I’ll be setting it to private.

What a surprise! The rant about SOTA having P100 Associations (by someone who has clearly not looked at the SOTA rules since the last revision in 2015!) has run out of steam so they needed something else to rant about! No doubt the new discussion will be laced with the usual juvenile insults and misinformation that we expect from that ghetto.

My personal take on this topic is to say that I would not touch anything in or on Facebook even with an antenna pole. Just my $0.02…

They have changed the settings from Public to Private, so no longer can I keep an eye on what they’re saying about me using my second FB account! So I’m now fully reliant on my friends on there who copy, paste and PM me stuff. Keep them coming please folks

I gave up worrying about what others say about me year’s ago. Life has taught me that there’s one thing that cannot be changed and that’s the Truth.

I noticed this morning that the main SOTA Facebook group also went to private.

After I told them to change from ā€œPublicā€ to ā€œPrivateā€ (I did so with respect) and after they blocked or deleted me, they finally changed to ā€œPrivateā€
I feel like the first to die in the group of good guys in a movie
The interesting thing is that I am still waiting for the answer as to why I was blocked… Even though I have sent a message to 2 of the 3 moderators.

I was wondering why bother, but I suppose it has the same fascination as passing a wreck on the motorway. There is a lot of good stuff on FE but for the small group of moaners and haters it is an exercise in frustration and futility. They think they are an in-group, but actually they are an out-group.

Must confess I haven’t been tempted to look, this Facebook group sounds very negative to me from the hams who have checked it out.

Indeed! I’m not even tempted to register with Facebook. (Though I do acknowledge the slight contradiction in why I’ve bothered reading this thread ).

I registered in 2006 and have regretted it ever since!
