F/AB-001 and AB-003

On July 21 and 29 I went for a walk on the peaks of Mont Blanc and Mont Blanc du Tacul.
Like the previous faith for the AB-001 I arrived before the propagation and for the AB-003 I arrived later, I had the chance to make contacts.

It was too cold I stayed 3 hours at the top so I had to go down. Ciao Mont-Blanc AB-001see you next year

Félicitations, Jean-Sébastien, pour ces deux super-sommets.
C’est domage qu’il n’y avait pas des chaseurs, mais oui, les conditions de propagation sont complètement fermées très tôt dans le matin. Sauf, peut-être pour DX avec VK-ZL.
Tel expédition devrait avoir été bien publicitée et annoncée dans le Reflector. Je ne savais rien et je suppose que la plus part du monde pareil.
Assure-toi de bien annoncer ta prochaine expedition sur ce moyen du Reflector SOTA pour voir s’il est possible de t’assurer au moins quelques chaseurs.

It’s a shame that there were not chasers, but yes, the propagation conditions are totally closed very early in the morning. Except for VK-ZL, perhaps.
Such expedition should have been well advertised and announced on the Reflector. I didn’t know anything and I guess it will be the same for most of the rest.
Make sure you will announce your next expedition on this Reflector SOTA to see if it’s possible to assure at least some chasers.

Nice job. You can be vy proud that you reached the Mont-Blanc top!
Last year we also took a shot. Unfortunately too much stone in Goûter-couloir. So the attempt was canceled. Back to the hut.

Un 4000 de plus au tableau du SOTA, voilà 10 points bien mérités … on attend la suite avec impatience…
Meme si la météo conditionne parfois au dernier moment le “summit day” n’hésite pas a faire de la pub tres en amont sur le Reflector SOTA de tes tentatives : il vaut mieux annuler au dernier moment un sommet, plutôt que l’annoncer trop tard. C’est l’activateur le maitre des horloges ! ( et puis pour un chasseur c’est beaucoup plus facile de se recoucher que pour activateur de gravir le sommet )
En tous cas bravo pour ces magnifiques sommets.

Congratulations for such high altitude activations.
What a pitty that only two chasers came back to the highest peak of the alps. Kudos to Lars @SA4BLM and Kyriakos @SV1RVJ for being early birds.

Which route did you take? What was the acclimatization procedure?

Hello Joe,
I took the normal route “more easy” :
Aiguille du Gouter, Dome du Gouter, Vallot Shelters and Summit.
For general acclimatization it is recommended to spend 2-3 days at more than 3800 before if you want not to be too bothered by mountain sickness.

As soon as I had a night at the snack hut, I posted the message on the sotawatch, that is to say the day before. It’s pretty hard to be able to access the refuge and the summit too unless you book a long time before and success is more random.
