Every day is SOTA Day!

The events - International SOTA Weekend, European SOTA Day etc - it seems they’re happening constantly!

Today I just nipped out to my local summit for a couple of hours. Made 43 QSOs including 17 S2S. I was hunting down the other summits from the SOTAwatch spots page - but couldn’t keep up with the rate the new ones were appearing!

The new MW0SAW end-fed antenna was a revelation. It worked sweetly on 40, 20, 10 and 6 - without a tuner or links or traps. It also appeared to be viable on several other bands too. The only one it seemed to object to was 30.

Of course we should know there’s going to be plenty of S2S action up for grabs when both GW4TQE and 2E0BIA are out activating…

Hi Tom, sorry I missed you. What’s the MW0SAW EFHW antenna all about then? I googled the subject but couldn’t find anything specific.

Tom,

The Excalibur DX EFHW from MW0SAW is a keeper.
I used it the 2nd week of my summer EU Tour during all my 30+ FL/VO activations. SWR was 1:1 throughout the band.
During one activation the unit touched the ground, yet SWR was only 1.3:1.

Very pleased with it.

The new antenna was giving you plenty of QSO,s including rare DX into Bosley. Any pictures?
