Electical tape safety note

When the ambient air temperature is 32C, in bright sunlight, the electrical insulating tape at the joints in my Sota pole looses it’s will to live, allowing the Sota pole to telescope and creating a chronic swr.

For the UK hams with a nervous disposition, please note that, this problem is never seen in Scotland and rare in most of the UK.

When you put up your Sqid Pole pull your antenna to one side a bit and bend the pole that way it loads up the joints and it won’t telescope down just as you put on the cans and sit down to get started.
