“Happy Easter” Just the same but with a Cheeky grin which is pretty much as the originator of all this actually did. After I served my time in the Navy as a Radio Operator We managed a Petrol Station many years ago, on the A339 Newbury Basingstoke Rd .One of our customers was the Music Teacher at Cheam School and his greeting was always “Happy Easter” Regardless of the time of year. He also said Happy Easter at Easter but with a cheeky grin attached. It has stuck with me ever since. He often also said Easter felicitations which I have also been known to say.
Thanks to this man we also won a competition with Shell for selling oil with a sales gimmick that involved the kids at Cheam School singing something along the lines of “Buy your oil from Margaret and John” The prize was meeting Barry Sheen at Shell HQ in Coventry and being entertained by Max Bygrave’s or similar in the evening. We were also provided with a Baby sitter for our then daughter aged probably 9 months, this year she turned 40.
I often wonder where that person is now. Neither can I remember his name.
Anyway Happy Easter to all my Readers on and off the air ways. This edited version looks ok this time.

I didn’t know the Navy operated on the A339. DUKWs? Or maybe something bigger?
