I had the opportunity to purchase another radio….I pulled out a few notes and put a bid on a radio that came from a SK sale (GW4OKT) for those that know Keith or have used his Advanced Math’s book (Useful Information).

I am now the proud owner of a KX2. Time to get reading and learning how to use the new radio.

Sad circumstances, but good to see the KX2 being used by someone else.

It’s been my primary SOTA radio for several years and provides astonishing results.

Indeed it was quite a shock. The KX2 will be used once I spend some time using it in the comfort of my shack first.

Hi John,

You have the Best KX2 in the world, Keith was a Friend and Elmer of mine and he built and upgraded that KX2, I have had the pleasure of using it with CDARS club call on a Contest night , many moons ago.

Keith is missed so much at the JPV Household , I still cannot believe he is no longer with us. Without Him I would not have got where I was in Amateur Radio.

I am sure he will watching over all his radios to ensure you treasure them as he did.

A quick look in the radio and it has the ATU board and I also need to work out how to add an internal battery - if not, I will use external power.

I have probably met you at CDARS as I am a member.
Once I have got to grips with the radio, I will take the radio to a hill for a bit of SOTA action.

Good luck with it John, I guarantee nothing technical will be faulty on that machine.

I left CDARS over 12 years ago, as I moved house and my disability meant I could not travel far.

Many successful Summit activation’s with it.
