yesterday I brought two friends of mine to Gallnerberg DM/BM-013 in DLFF-0043. One of which Lukas, who broke in my educational callsign DN1FTR/p and the other one being Barnabas DD0HB/p on his first SOTA activation.
It was a great success. Together we reached almost 200 QSOs. Many thanks to all the chasers! Special greetings for S2S contacts belong to: @DL2KL to bring a 2m handheld on the nearby Hirschenstein DM/BM-006 on my request @OE5JFE who we reached on 2m as well @DD1LD, @DL8MEK working as DL25COA, @DL4ROB, @DL5AZZ, @DJ2MX and @DL3EC all being friends from the SOTA DL/ community @DF7TF where I always like the familiarity between our callsigns, especially in CW
We will certainly do follow up activations together. I was surprised how smoothly Lukas operated under my educational callsign. He is already signed up for the exam and I am sure we will be able to hear him on the air with his own callsign soon!

I remember very well when you and @DD2LL joined the SOTA presentation in our Regensburg DARC Club U13. @DK1ZX and myself shared some of our SOTA experiences there. You were very interested, we talked long after the presentation on the one or other detail of SOTA. You just had started with outdoor activities.
This is one year ago, now you share your knowledge to others and help our community to grow. Congrats and thanks!
Thank you for working both Lukas and Barnabas. That was an amazing contact with a rare DXCC. When I later called CQ, I was also hoping for you. Maybe some other time!
You are right. That was only about one year ago… feels longer. I always liked being outdoors and hiking. No wonder that SOTA caught me right from the beginning.
Your talk was definitely one of the key points for me to get started with CW. Thank you for inspiring me to learn this amazing mode!
According the encrypted log. Lukas picked out callsigns from the pileup all by himself and made the QSOs. These were his notes. I was sitting next to him and logged the contacts digitally, including the rapports and references for S2S. This way he was able to work on the air with minimal support. I think this really was a great feature!

SOTA ist “ansteckend” in einem guten Sinn, und man nimmt solche “Ansteckungen” gerne in Kauf. Nehmt daraus, was euch gut tut, und das ist viel mehr als Summits und Punkte.
Ein herzlicher Dank auch an die “Anstecker”, die da ihre eigene Freude eingebracht und an andere weiter gegeben haben. Und auch die Neuen seien ermuntert, das später einmal auch so zu machen – enjoy!

Danke für die Verbindungen, Thomas. Bei mir war alles bestens aufzunehmen, allenfalls bei euch ein lokales QRM. Im belebten Gebiet gibts gerne Störungen, aber allenfalls kann man was dagegen tun, wenn es ständig ist?
Ja das Problem lag beim QRM auf unserer Seite. Ich denk du warst ca S6.
DK0PT ist die Hochschulstation in Regensburg. Die Highbands gehen super mit dem 3 Element Beam! Aber ab 30m hat man QRM. Bei 40m ganz übel. Besonders ärgerlich ist, dass das QRM nochmal deutlich ansteigt, wenn sich der Aufzug bewegt.
Normalerweise verwende ich auf 40m auch den Beam zum Hören, obwohl er da nicht resonant ist. Vielleicht würde eine horizontale Antenne für 40m schon ein bisschen was bringen.
Ich werde wahrscheinlich nicht mehr so lange an der Uni sein. Erst mit uns jetzt zeigen Studenten wieder Interesse an der Station und wir werden sehr gut unterstĂĽtzt. Man kann natĂĽrlich nicht alle Probleme auf einmal beheben. Aber die anderen studieren noch eine Zeit lang und ich freue mich auf viele QSOs mit DK0PT!
Zwei sehr spannende Chases hab ich von DK0PT in letzter Zeit auf 10m gemacht. Sogar in SSB! Und zwar @WA7JTM auf W7A/AW-020 und @PY2VM auf PY2/SE-024. Ist beides ufb gegangen.
Vielleicht schaut ihr das mal mit den Praktiker-Koryphäen in der Umgebung an. Allenfalls muss halt auch die Hochschule mal ihr Zeugs störrischer machen - die wären da am Techniker-Olymp ja quasi an der Quelle, hi.
