DM Association Updates 1st February 2026

As no list of association updates was posted for February 2026, I at least report the changes for DM.

On February 1, 2026, Gerhard, DL4TO, handed over his position as SOTA Regional Manager for DM/HE to Cedric, DJ3CE. Together with Michael, DB7MM, Gerhard had reviewed numerous mountain references after the strict enforcement of the 150-meter prominence criterion for DM. Thanks to his work, several new references, primarily in DM/BW, were added on December 1, 2017. In the following years, he continued to maintain the summit list and was available as a contact person for SOTA participants. DM Association Manager Michael thanks Gerhard for his work and the fruitful exchange over the years.

Michael is pleased to welcome Cedric, with his experience in geographic information systems and his interest in SOTA, as the new DM/HE Regional Manager.

On February 1, 2026, several summit positions and elevations in DM were corrected:

DM/BM-013 Gallnerberg - change of position by 222 m, change of height by +12 m

DM/HE-059 Hohe Kanzel - change of position by 781 m, height unchanged

DM/HE-072 Hohestein - change of position by 135 m, height unchanged

DM/HE-253 Kasseler Kupppe - change of position by 57 m, change of height by -4 m

DM/TH-046 Kleiner Gleichberg - change of position by 37 m, height unchanged

DM/RP-180 had to be deactivated due to insufficient prominence.

  • DM/RP-180 was created 1.12.2004.
  • With the enforcement of P100 it was deleted 31.12.2008.
  • It was reactivated by the MT on 2.3.2016 when the DM summit list was heavily revised due to the strict enforcement of P150.
  • It was deactivated 1.2.2026, again.

Seems the interrupted validity period caused some glitches in the SOTA Database. Sorry from my side for the issues - I was not able to foresee the consequences of this special case.
