Distance error using GridSquare

In logging my chases for today, I observed something interesting. The activators were on W6/CT-226, GridSq DM04ve. I was chasing from home, GridSq DM04vf, an adjacent grid sq. When I logged my chases using my grid square, the distance didn’t show up. I then edited this entry. The lat/ long that was in the entry (converted by SOTAdata from my GridSq) was

34.2089, -118.19167

I next copied and pasted this lat/ long into the “Your Location” field, and submitted. It now shows a distance of 2 km!!! Seems like a SOTAData bug. Perhaps the error is unique to me chasing an adjacent grid square.

CT-226 is right up next to the boundary of the grid square. I’d suggest using your actual lat/lon instead of the grid square to get a more precise result. The general error with entering grid squares was fixed as per the other thread about 15 minutes ago.

Actually, this is what is in your SSO profile for your location. The summit is literally 2km away from there.
