I was going to try the 6m rubber-duck from my FT818 with my Discovery TX-500 to give me a quick-deploy, line-of-sight option for an upcoming weekend summit ultra-marathon.
But sadly I’ve lost the antenna. Before I buy another, has anyone tried the TX-500 with a hand-held-style antenna on 6m? Be it a rubber duck or a more tunable telescopic. The TX-500 is more sensitive to refelcted signal than the FT818, and has much less metal-casing-ground-plane so I’m wondering if such antennae will tune to it’s satisfaction.
