Disappearing spots on SOTAWatch

On Thursday morning I saw AE4GS spotted on 20M CW and worked him at 1425Z, logging my chase via the quick logging link on SOTAWatch. A little while afterwards I wanted to go back to check his summit reference for my home log and noticed that the spot had disappeared !!!

I don’t recall if the spot was generated by RBN or if it was a self-spot. Obviously, if the operator self-spotted then he could likewise delete the spot afterwards. I had never thought about this before. Is this a common practice?

Maybe not on a summit?

I see no alert set today…

Now it would be nice if /P would be used so one could easier find out what has was going on :sweat_smile:

You see the spot on a different spot page but not on SOTAWatch (below).

Maybe delete because not on a summit. I guess you need to send an email to investigate?
Alert is also gone so I assume RBNhole triggered a SOTA spot but that was not the intention?

Follow-up: I contacted Gary, AE4GS, who was on W4T/SU-079 today. He was having difficulty and chose to delete his spot after 5 contacts.
