Dave, I use DM780. Are you using the macro manager? What sort of problems are you having?

Hi Dave,
For PSK31 / PSK63 I use WinPSK which seems pretty simple to use. For RTTY I use MMTTY, which is also pretty simple to use. I don’t think I have ever chased SOTA using RTTY but I have chased using PSK31 & managed to work Darius MW0KCB/P on GW/NW-0012 Cadair Berwyn a short while ago. I used a very short exchange rather than the long & detailed exchanges usually used in PSK QSO’s.
Thanks for the call on Saturday when I was on Longridge Fell.

I use fldigi, it’s available for both Windows and Linux, it does nearly all the data modes you are likely to want and it’s simple to use. More importantly, it’s free and it’s well maintained and updated.

Dave, when you see the incoming signal callsign in the upper pane, click on the callsign - the call will then be placed in the log holder to the left. Thereafter that call will be automatically be placed in the macros. So macro ‘him de me’ would turn into eg. G6TUH de M3XIE.
For SOTA chasing I have just used the above macro and typed a quick response and report to the other station. As has been already written the long winded macros are not wanted by the SOTA activators.
Later on today I will write something up with screen shots and email you. DM780 is very good and the superbrowser is great. You should be good to go if you follow what I send you - I hope 8).

PS: I am using the v5, before it went commercial.
